    Original research relating to the inter-relationship of a number of existing and proposed EC laboratory tests - Investigation into the Correlation of Micro-Deval and AAV, The Effect of particle size on PSV (unpublished Working Papers)

    Supervised and operated on-site a number of TRL designed road testing devices including HSTM and SCRIM/SCRIMTEX, some experience of working with GripTester via PIARC trial and working with North Yorkshire CC team during UK research project (see reference 6)

    Worked with Les Tubey and Peter Roe in collection of network SMTD data and some analysis of STATS19 data for: 

    RR296 - The relation between the surface texture of roads and accidents. 1991 P G Roe, D C Webster, G West

    Used Scrimtex/SCRIM along with Local Authority/TMC information to extend the correlation of SFC/MSSC  PSV and CVD for traffic flows in excess of 3200 CVD (LR 510 limit): this required the collection and analysis of over 450 km of MSSC/PSV/Site Category/CVD data, providing data base and initial analysis for:

    Proposed amendments to the British Standard Ten Percent Fines Value (TPV) and aggregate Abrasion Value (AAV) test procedures (as published in QJEG Reference 1) - improvement of the accuracy of estimating TPV load from AIV based on lithology. Trained as graduate recruit by Les Tubey, Peter Roe and Graham West.
