After The New Year 2003 we had a little trip to Amsterdam!.....

We flew via easyJet from Gatwick to Schipol on the 06:15 flight out of Gatwick and Back on the 20:15 to Gatwick

We stayed in the "Techno" Room of the Winston Hotel in the Middle of the Red Light District ( Warmosstraat 123 ). cool Hotel ......Bizzarre Room!!!

Afternoon Tea was partaken TWICE at De Bakkerswinkel (The Baker's Shop) a great classy cake shop AGAIN in warmoesstraat: Warmoestraat 69 (Behind Beurs van Berlage, on the corner of Oude Brugsteeg) .. check out the stainless steel kitchen and the transparent roof space!!!!

"De Bakkerswinkel For breakfast, lunchand high tea. Wonderful bread and cakes in impressive surroundings.

For Evening Food we dined Chinese at Nam Kee.....Zeedijk 111 - 113 1012 AV Amsterdam Tel: 020 - 624 34 70.. good call Thimo!!!!

A nice Café along the Bloemenmarkt/Singel Canal......

Can't remember what it was called but the name was "Studio? <something> 2" there was a passage TO THE RIGHT of the counter at the back down to the toilets.. the servery was linked to the kitchen by a slope with a tray dragged up and down it!!! It was before the large concrete building on the canal side after the market stalls ... Sorry...... BEWARE the pea soup... delicious but served with rye bread and bacon with mustard

........And for beer and smokes I went to the Last Waterhole ( The Last Waterhole, Oudezijds Armsteeg 12-14 Amsterdam 1012 GP) with Henk and Thimo ( both from the Minilist!)

.... We saw a great band called Rubber

Unable to resist I took solace in a smoke or two!!!.... I was not alone ;)... Thimo assisted... AND It was a shame I could not have taken the perfectly rolled 'J's they produced at the "Waterhole" home with me ;( ......

AS Cat Lovers we could not miss the kattenkabinet: take a look......
