New Direction for NEW MINI? ....BUT IT ISN'T A Real Mini!!!

We can't say that MINI isn't all BMW planned (or Sir Alec did?) but it ain't a Mini... There is a lot of reputation to create in the abscence of recognition of the REAL ONE....

.........Especially as it doesn't stall when driven through puddles, run like a pig on choke, rust like hell (yet) etc.. etc.. and leak in the rain....

NO.......?

..................hold up on that last one, we don't know for sure on this yet...... AND those REAL Mini seats, they were uncomfortable but they didn't half last a long while ..

Lots of REAL Mini Owners think it is a Mini Forgery!!!

TECHNICAL PROBLEMS?

..... We wonder how long the seats will last in the new car (anyone got any news on this or any MINIs that might be leaking?)..could MINI have something in common with REAL Minis?... at least now the fuel filler cap thing is sorted.. at least one car was having the mod done along with a replacement seat! ( Him Big Fella Roger "The Hat" Walls' car.. non the less)

The Fruit of this Union from HELL must dream....

...... of equaling the "Real Minis" Monte Carlo Victories, Scores of Competition Successes, the kudos of ownership AND of belonging, and the proven low cost of DIY maintenance and modification/tuning ...... TO BE A TRUE Mini it has to feel the same!...

Maybe there will be a stronghold of BMW MINI owners keeping the OLD starched linen flag flying next to their new plastic one....?

If you don't understand the feelings in owners of the REAL (aka.. Klassic.. pah!) Mini that the arrival of the namesake has generated...don't bother mailing us and don't attempt to try and join the 40 year old in crowd of REAL Mini owners either...... in your "Pretty New Car"..

Attempts to convince us that the new car is a "proper" Mini by listing all the modern features it has and/or the fact it is safer or quicker do not count and will be passed around our office and laughed at!

THE FUTURE?.....

It's early days for the youngster, you never know we Real Mini owners might even end up "flashing" the drivers of these things?.. might be a bit difficult for the Beemer man to reciprocate, rumour....

..........only rumour, has it that some of the headlamps are smashing on MINIs when you slam the bonnet down ;)

BULLSHIT FACTOR 8 Captain: An artist employed for a launch presentation of MINI in New York is quoted as saying:

And this for...... a parkbench with a headphone socket to listen to recordings of memoirs of Real Mini owners through (if he gets any).. at least the bench will give you (i) wet feet in the rain, (ii) smell after being left outside for a few weeks and (iii) leave you with backache if you sit on it for a long time.. it has more in common with Minis then... bench seats catch fire easy though ;)
